Leap years are needed to keep our calendar in alignment
with the earth's revolutions around the sun. By using a calendar with 365 days
every year the result would be the loss of 0.2422 days, or almost six hours per
year. After 100 years, our calendar would be more than 24 days ahead of the
season. So in an effort to align the calendar with the seasons, adding a day or
a leap year approximately every four years, the difference between the calendar
and the seasons can be reduced significantly, and the calendar will align with
the seasons much more accurately.

leap day are called
leapers. The word "leaper" is
defined as someone who bounds or leaps (as in competition). Perhaps it also
means someone who has a special ability to leap to places where others cannot.

person because the day that you were born seems to disappear on the years when
